Edge of Breaking

Yahoo Image Search

Every scream holds power
More energy expended
Never to return
And leaving the body weak
Open to another torment

The pressure mounts
And cracks begin to form
Ignored out of fear
Or stubborn pride
Another step is always possible

Forget resting
There will be time in death
Enemies do not sleep
Always lurking
Striking at every opening

The shattering begins
Unfamiliar sensations
Seeping into bones and mind
Crumbling all resistance
The breaking point has been reached

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Wow. Such a sad poem. I can’t help thinking of Luke. 😦 But I also can’t help thinking of myself as a writer querying publishers and agents. Breaking point? Oh yes, I know this point.
