Tis the Day of Fools

 Tis the Day of Pranks
Where nothing is what it seems
Or everything is true
Paranoia settles in
With no escape until the dawn
Traps are lurking
Yet maybe they are not
Is that friend genuine
Or coaxing you into their web?
For one day
Everyone is out to get you
Unless they are not
The real truth is
You will never know

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. My fears. I love this poem as much as I hate this day. Nicely written.

Ha! So true! I question every bit of news someone shares today!
Two people I know were born on April 1. A hard day for a birthday! I’m sure they’ve heard every variation of “You’re an April fool.”

It’s April 1st!!! What pranks have been played on you today? Or are you the prankster? I went to the dentist – what a way to spend April Fool’s Day for once I was hoping that they were pranking me and my appointment was a joke! But sadly it was not the case….. Enjoy this reblog of a bit of April Fool’s poetry via Charles yallowitz – Legends of Windemere.

  6. I suppose the real prank is never knowing whether something is a prank or not as you suggest. April 2nd can’t get here soon enough. 🙂
