Legs aching and arms going limp
You may have pushed too far
Is it time to rest?
There’s still work to do
A break will cost you, dear
Sparks are still upon your eyes
I doubt you wish to give
The finish line is too far to see
Yet you can taste it in the breeze
Surrender is not on the menu
Not while you can move
A slow breath is all you need
To claim one more mile

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I really needed that too. I have a tendency to think, “I just can’t do this.” But your writing this poem, even with your busy schedule, reminds me that I should stop complaining about the little I have to do.
