  1. If you had the choice of any occupation, what would you actually like to be?
    .
Well I never had any skill in the forge and I always liked being in nature.  I think I’d enjoy being a regular tracker for hire.  Just act as a guide for forest regions when people want to wander and be protected.  Not sure how much money comes with that, so I’d probably need a side job.  Bounty hunter might work too and my grandfather would be happy that I’m using the family training.
    .
  2. Do you have any hobbies that you would like to be able to spend more time on?
    .
My favorite hobby as a kid . . . and teenager . . . and currently is exploring the wilderness.  I love wandering around and taking in the environment.  You never know what you will run into and the stories you might come back with.  Hard to do when you have people trying to kill you.
    .
  3. What’s your favorite meal?
    .
My mom’s cooking.  I really miss my mom’s cooking.
    .
  4. Do you play any musical instruments–if so, what? If you don’t, what would you like to play?
    .
I know how to play the ocarina, but I haven’t had much time to indulge.  Playing it always relaxes me.  It also draws animals to you if you play at night.  Learned that the hard way.
    .
  5. Is there any one in particular that you wish you didn’t have to be around?
    .
I’m torn between the Lich and Stephen.  I think I have to go with Stephen since he’s infinitely worse than Tyler.
    .
  6. Have you ever been strongly attracted to someone and it never developed?
    .
No, it developed.  Twice.  Paying the price for that situation, which I’m hoping will come to a happy end for all involved.  Nyx keeps telling me that I have to stop deluding myself with that one.
    .
  7. Are you surprised about what you have become? Is this what you expected when you were a child?
    .
Kind of.  I always wanted to be a hero because that’s what most of my ancestors were.  I felt a lot of pressure to earn a reputation since my last name had already made me kind of famous.  I never expected an adventure this big and important.  After all, being a hero is one thing.  Becoming a destined champion who will face an ancient evil is on a whole other level.
    .
  8. What is your biggest fear?
    .
Spiders.  The Chaoswind Blade is pretty terrifying too.
    .
  9. If you could change places with another person in Windemere, who would it be and why?
    .
Timoran only because it would get me out of my own messes.  Wait, I wouldn’t be as wise as him, right?  Guess I’d only screw up his life.  Although, him in my body might be able to fix my mistakes.  Sorry, that’s not his baggage.  I’ll change my answer to Fizzle because he always seems so happy.
    .
  10. What makes you happy?
    .
Going on an adventure and being with my friends.  I love when we travel to a new city or type of wilderness.  It’s always so exciting and that makes me happy.
    .
  11. What does teamwork mean to you?
    .
I don’t know.  It means a lot to me, but I don’t know if I can easily define it.  Teamwork simply happens when you work with somebody for long enough.  Other times it can click immediately because of a shared background or no obvious reason.  All I know is that it means I have somebody to watch my back and I have to protect them in return.
    .
  12. How would you define honor?
    .
This is giving me a headache.  I don’t really think about these things very often.  Also, I saw what the other champions said and everyone seems to be right.  It’s such a fluid thing that changes depending on how a person is raised, their culture, and their experiences.  I could say that honor is defined by being a trustworthy person today, but future events can make me think it’s more about doing what’s right at all costs.
    .
  13. What’s the best way to hunt monsters?
    .
I believe that’s called poaching.  Demons, undead, golems, and Weapon Dragons I can understand.  For that, you would need as many men as you feel comfortable with.  But most people point at naturally occurring creatures and shout monster as if they’re not supposed to be there.  They are.  So don’t go hunting something that hasn’t done anything besides living in the wild.
    .
  14. What’s your first response when someone makes you really, really mad?
    .
Probably throw a punch, but I think most people would be like that.  At least if you’re pushed to the highest point of anger where you’re not thinking straight.
    .
  15. What’s it like working for Charles?
    .
That’s a strange question.  Who is that?

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

It’s hard to be a hero, isn’t it? But we all have to grow into the roles we’ve been given. And watching you grow has been fun, though your friends get exasperated now and then.

    • It is fun having multiple characters grow too. That way you can have one that doesn’t get entirely out of their immaturity and can be a source of headaches. Leave just enough mischief that you can see why they have friends and are a hero even though they keep stumbling along. We all know people like that in the real world.
