Welcome back to QUESTIONS 3! The rules are that there are no rules. Sort of. I think of a topic on the fly and make a post that has 3 questions. You can answer in the comments or answer on your own blog. If you do the latter then please pingback to this post. Hopefully we can get some fun conversations going here. Here we go:
- If you could go away for a weekend by yourself, where would you go and why?
- What would you use your time away to do?
- How easy is it for you to get back into a routine after a vacation?

1. Anywhere away from my responsibilities. I would visit New Jersey if I could avoid housework and child rearing in the process.

(Must learn never to hit ‘enter’) 2. Read, Read, Inhale Chocolate Cake, Read some more. 3. I have to return?

I guess you don’t have to if you settle all accounts before you go. Otherwise, you might find yourself either hunted by concerned friends and family.

Wow. I feel like I should give you my weekend away. Nobody picks New Jersey unless they really want to escape. 😛

1.) Middle Earth. It would be cool to see things that influence my writing.
2.) Relax and sight see. I’ve learned not to make an extensive agenda for vacations. I used to book every minute, and learned the discovery items are usually the best part.
3.) I live by a routine. It won’t be hard to pick it back up.

I think I’d be scared to go to Middle Earth. It definitely looks unclean and they have giant spiders. Some of those things talk too.
I’ve been on those extreme planning vacations. My family always did those and I try not to do the same. One big event of the day and take my time with it or do random stuff after. The extreme planning seems to take the rest out of a vacation.

I’ve learned the hard way. Came home more exhausted than when I left. Rivendell might be a great place to kick back with a beverage and a book, and watch elf girls.

That always seems to happen to me. For some reason people take that as a sign I had a good time. I think of it more as I overindulged and forgot the important part of a vacation.
Rivendell would be a good choice. Maybe The Shire?

Some nice places to see there. My fiction might benefit more from Moria, or Mordor.

But Mordor has such cheap real estate.

True, but their amusement park looks kind of dicey.

Well you can’t do much when you’re blacklisted by the Dwarven construction companies. Ogres and orcs are known more for destroying than building. On the plus side, the landlord is easy to get a hold of. Just go outside and wave . . . or hold up a sign of complaint.

1.Probably the Lake District because of the amazing views and the general magic of the area. Lake Windermere springs to mind!
2.Hmm…write, write, and write some more! I might squeeze in a little reading, and sightseeing, photography, exploring – a busy vacation!
3.Pretty easy, though after a few days I’m usually ready for another holiday 😉

It does seem like the glow of a vacation vanishes too quickly. Almost like life refuses to let you bask in the joy once you get back to the grindstone. Wonder what mankind would be like if we could relax and enjoy life while still getting the stuff we need. Now that’s a fantasy world.

Definitely sounds like utopia to me! 🙂
