Opinions differ
A simple fact of living
Among those with thoughts
Beyond the basic needs
Screeching one is right
Does not prove your point
Or disprove what I said
Words become sour noise
Only key phrases to pounce on
As if progress is made
By the loudest and rudest
Nobody looks down
To see they are sinking together
While the middle ground rots
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
You covered this ground very well. I can never recall an argument solving anything for the reasons you have pointed out so well.

Thanks. It does seem like a discussion goes into the toilet as soon as somebody raises their voice.

People raise their voice when they run out of arguments. That’s why I usually side with the side that manages to keep their calm.

I’ve noticed that too. Though the people who start out shouting confuse me.

I think that’s their whole point. Confused spectators can be more easily swayed.

Never thought of that. Stun from the beginning and try to railroad your point in. Blunt, but effective tactic.
