Goals of the Recently Fed

Well, I survived Yom Kippur and realized I’m extremely rusty with video games.  At least Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.  The big spell that I could usually pull off was so beyond me and I had such trouble dodging attacks.  I also got lost in the castle on several occasions.  It didn’t help that I woke up hungry and focused on keeping it to a low roar all day.  After spending time lowering my calorie intake, a day of fasting was both easier and harder.  I made it to the end with a lot less worry, but I was mildly hungry for the entire day.  Hard to explain.

I finished editing Allure of the Gypsies and I’ll be tackling Family of the Tri-Rune, which is easier since it’s already been touched on.  This one is mostly for continuity and to give myself a refresher.  I leap to Book 7 after that since The Compass Key and Curse of the Dark Wind have already been done by me.  Unless my editor cracks the whip and tells me to go over them too.  My hope is to start in on Book 9 in December the latest.  Still not sure if the next book will be out by then.  Depends on getting everything ready in time.

I won’t be starting the editing until Tuesday because Monday is eye doctor day.  I haven’t been to one since Florida, so it’s long past due.  Dilation will occur, which will be driving me nuts for hours.  It’ll be close to the son coming home from school by the time my eyes clear.  I’ll be doing some notebook work, especially now that I figured out how to work the bounty hunter.  This means only ‘Project Phoenix’ is posing a problem, which includes friends and family being ready to hurt me if I talk about it again.

Nothing else has really happened beyond that.  The son will be the week long subject of the blog this week.  Pictures and stories of the little guy will go until Friday.  Hope people enjoy that change of pace from the writing-based stuff.  I’m still seeing a division where some people want personal stuff and others want writing.  Makes me actually look forward to cutting back in January.

Speaking of blog posts, I’ll do my common question of any lengthy topics that people might want to see me tackle.  I know I have ‘Writer Comforts’, ‘Non-Human Characters’, and ‘Writing Pieces’ on my list.  I guess I need 9 subjects to get to the end of the year.  I would say I have a ‘Hype Week’, but I can’t be sure of that right now.

So, what’s the targets of the week?

  1. Eye doctor appointment and get new glasses.
  2. Start editing Family of the Tri-Rune.
  3. Notebook work on bounty hunter and possible Yola story.
  4. Biking and trying to eat better this week.
  5. Possibly a hair cut if I feel like it.
  6. I used to have more stuff to do, but this week just feels empty and slow.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. I’m glad there were no casualties during your fast. I’ve done them and nearly survived the last few hours. I can be grouchy towards everyone in my path. Enjoy your week if you can…
