Errands found in piles
Laid on stairs and desks
Adding to my mind
As the tired one screams
And the other wanders off
Everything on my head
As if I am their boss
Having no other role
Stress building
Sleep repeatedly restless
Moments of rest
Gather up my strength
Only to be dashed
Within minutes of my return
People want to hear about this shite?

Sadly it really isn’t. Certain people watch my blog and ‘discuss’ its contents when I run into them. So I have to be careful with what I say here.

Okay. I see that. I guess I was speaking for myself. Anyway, bound to get better. BTW did Ionia loan you the word shite?

I hope it does improve. I keep finding things that were left unfinished and might even be passed the due date. That and the WP app on my phone has suddenly opted to not work. I’m on the laptop until I race out of here with the kid.
I paid her a shiny bottle cap for the word. 🙂

Lol, that sounds like my life. Except instead of having a little kid that screams, I’ve got a dog that barks incessantly at 7am when he mistakenly thinks everyone has left the house for the day (plot twist: they hadn’t).

The kid is usually well-behaved, but after a long day of having fun, he gets tired and grumpy. Right now he’s downstairs playing with his trains while I get a little work done. So he’s quiet and happy now. Should last until the point I have to cook dinner and bring him inside.

Helps to humanize the author, I think.

What if the author doesn’t really feel human? 😀

Poetry helps with that feeling, you know. 😉

Yeah, but I get scolded if I’m too ‘negative’ and ‘moody’. Apparently, I’m supposed to be happy, cheery, and positive all the time. So saccharine it hurts my teeth. 😛

Sounds like someone else’s version of reality. Be you. Love that word, btw. 🙂

Probably. I don’t really fit in around here, so being me comes at a penalty.

Yeah. Did that one from my phone and I was too lazy to fight autocorrect. 🙂

only human, Charles, people forget that sometimes. impressed you used a shiny bottle cap as currency, I’ve tried to pass off buttons as coins before but my children have gotten wise to it now

It’s all about polishing the bottle cap and making it pretty.

That’s the problem with working from home. People don’t think you’re really working. They think they can interrupt you at any time for any reason. They think you can switch writing or editing on and off, that you don’t need time to get into the right frame of mind, that one interruption can throw you off for hours. I know the ideal thing would be for you to have your own private, external writing space. And I know you don’t have that. I hope it’s in your future. That or everyone goes on an extended vacation and leaves you at home alone 😉

I’ve been working in my room upstairs, but that forces me to spend the day sitting on my bed. Not good for the back and this part of the house heats up really quickly. I’m all for that extended vacation. Or at least a weekend where I get away and rest. 🙂
