I Have a Plan. It’s a Good Plan. (So Doomed!)

First, a big thank you to everyone who reblogged, shared, and bought a copy of ‘THE HOPETELLER’.  The novella is available on Amazon Kindle for $1.25.  Part post-apocalyptic journal and part fairy tale, which should be interesting.  Click on this paragraph to go the Amazon page.

Also I woke up to this:

Very good news considering my other books have tapered off a lot.  Fear that I’ve run out of tricks to promote.  Probably because all I want to do lately is write my books and not worry about the business side.  That might be showing in the Tweets and FB posts.  Kind of ironic considering the topic of my posts this week is Social Media Marketing from my experience.

Other than the debut, it was a rather uneventful week as far as I can remember.  I had a fatigue that I couldn’t shake.  So I only managed to get two chapters done.  Again, this is a challenging book because all of the heroes are dispersed and it’s not as action heavy as the previous books.  At least at first.  Closer to ‘Beginning of a Hero’ where they are small blips of high action and then a rollercoaster at the end.  Plus side here is that I’m getting to flush out and evolve several supporting characters.  Specifically, Yola Biggs the Chaos Goddess and the history of the big baddie.  Maybe it’s for the best.  The 5-7 had a lot of action, so this could be a good mellow book before another action one that I’m already itching to write.  Though I need to go through 5-8 first.  Got the 10 reams of paper for it too.

Sorry that this post is rather dull compared to previous ones.  I’m writing, reading a new book that’s been on my list for years, plotting other stories, and entertaining the rambunctious toddler. That last one has been the biggest challenge because he keeps wanting computer time, which he calls ‘work stuff’.  He’s occasionally grabbed a book and tried to read, but it’s typically one that he’s memorized or he makes up a story.  I’m not allowed to help him either.

Wait!  There was something I was going to mention.  I already have the June posts scheduled.  ALL OF THEM!  So I’ll see if I can think up any topics for July, but I think I’m burning out on blogging.  It’s getting harder to think up post ideas and poetry simply hasn’t come to my mind.  I’m thinking of dropping my posting to Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after ‘The Compass Key’ comes out.  We’ll see how I feel at that point.  It’s not that it’s extremely time-consuming, but I’m out of ideas and part of the magic might be gone.  Keep in mind that I haven’t missed a day of posting since I started unless I deleted an old post.  At the beginning, it was easy to post about my writing because nothing was out there.  Now, I worry that I put too much out.  At least I have 2-3 months to think it over.

Goals of the Week:

  1. Write 2-3 chapters of Book 8.  Still looking like 2-2.5 weeks needed to finish this.
  2. Paperwork for son’s school.
  3. Read more of ‘Ranger’s Apprentice: Halt’s Peril’.
  4. Possible movie, but definite lunch on Thursday.  Only issue with the movie is that there’s nothing we really want to pay money for.
  5. The usual weekly events.
  6. Accept that these lists are getting shorter.
  7. Clip toddler’s nails.
  8. Swear that I’ll learn to play the accordion and give up two seconds later.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Congratulations on the new release Charles. And I am completely amazed that you have all of June’s posts scheduled. Wow. I kind of have too in as much as I am taking part in a blogging challenge in June but I guess that is cheating. 🙂

A shorter list proves the progress you’ve made. Congrats on the debut. Just think. he’s really a preschooler now. not really a toddler. Before long you’ll be telling us about teenager troubles.
