A week to go
Before release
Let everyone fall to hell
Aching body
Frazzled mind
The noise is driving me insane
Holidays are looming
As if mocking me with grins
Stealing time I want
To steel myself against
Chaos has already shown
It is dancing in my face
Best laid plans
Dashed upon the rocks
And stabbed for heinous kicks
Not all of me will see the end
Things are making sure of that
The gypsy shall dance
When the calendar turns
Then havoc will ensue
It appears the universe, god, or whatever supernatural force that enjoys fucking with me has opted to throw some chaotic events into my debut period. I can’t go into it here, but just know that I might be borderline basket case by the end of December.

As my wife told me the other day when I was complaining about galley edits, “this is self inflicted.”

Some of this is. The rest is making me realize how many holidays and birthdays are around this time of year.

This is the time of year I become more reclusive than I already am.

I wish I could, but chaos of family has combined with chaos of a book debut. So, I’m working on seeing how to make everything work.

It is most fortunate my family is small, and spread out over the states.

Mine isn’t very big, but we’re around the same area. Can’t be perfect.

Hang in there Charles I’m sure that things will work out.

Things are getting settled. Won’t be as crazy as I thought.

The experience of running into and dealing with all this chaos hopefully will be helpful as you incorporate chaos into your stories. “Just think, what inopportune thing would happen to me if I were the protagonist right now?” 🙂

I do that a lot already. Big fan of the ‘well that went wrong’ events because plans rarely work perfectly.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. You must say, “This too shall pass.” Wishing you the best of luck with the debut also. i am excited for you. You are not merely a survivor, you are a conqueror.

Thanks. Though I hope it passes with me still intact. Things are quieting down and December is getting cleaned up.

Well…as they say, it doesn’t rain unless it pours…I’m glad to see that the storm is calming down!

Hope it stays that way. Things have a nasty habit of going askew when I have something big to do.

Thing have a nasty habit of going askew for anyone that has something big to do dear Charles…it’s a human thing I think.

Stems a lot from not being able to control the actions of other people. Need to work on that.
