Home Stretch to Publishing

Less than 24 hours before Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower is live.  Advertising e-mails are in draft mode, personal blog post about debut is schedule, store section set up, and whatever else I could think of.  Still have today’s ‘What Do You Look For’ post and the Nyx poem.  Funny thing is that I was going to end on Freedom, but I forgot about Nyx.  Oops.

I’m planning on staying up late enough to see the book go live and finish up the Goodreads site and the personal blog post.  I figure if I put it into review at 9:30 PM, it’ll be done by midnight.  If not then I’ll just pass out and get everything done in the morning.

That’s the odd thing about this second time around.  The first time I had no real plan and chased after every advertising idea.  Some of them were one-time things that were about me instead of the book.  I don’t have to do those this time.  So, I’m wondering if the marketing for this is going to boil down to blogging as usual and tweeting the books on a daily basis.  I’m considering putting Prodigy into KDP Select at the end of August or even earlier since it’s Amazon exclusive.  Yet, I don’t feel as crazed about the marketing side of things.  In fact, I’m thinking more about the next project and I’m comfortable with the slew tweets.  Guess we’ll have to see how things go.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Sounds like you have things under control. I am still working on my paperback…some stumbling blocks with the copy editing. Didn’t realize it would take this long. Time consuming.

Hey Charles Facebook suspended my commenting ability for about 6 hours after I posted the link to Beginning of a Hero last night… I only just got my ability to comment back a few minutes ago… I think I could get away with one more before they suspend my account so I will wait til we have a link to Amazon for Prodigy… I want people my people to be directed right to where they can buy the book, better chance of making sales… so once you get the Amazon link Email it to me and I will pump up Prodigy.. if they suspend me they suspend me… It won’t be the first time facebook has suspended my account…so no worries there…
Fingers crossed and all the best….

    • Wait. Why did they suspend your account for posting a link to a book? I see those types of posts all over the place.

they didn’t suspend my account this time to say… just took away my ability to comment and to post for about six hours…who knows… I posted it on my writing facebook page and shared it on my personal page with my friends so who knows maybe one of those guys I always use to kill in D&D games is haunting me now…lol… joking I don’t think they would still be holding a grudge… my author page was suspended once and the only thing I ever posted on it at that time was links to my poetry directly posted from wordpress when I post… I have had to jump through hoops various times because of what they determine to be suspicious activity on my account… I really have no clue what it’s all about…

      • That’s really bizarre. My blog posts go to my author page and I’ve never had a problem. Maybe somebody keeps reporting your page because they disagree with some of your poems. A plug for a fantasy book shouldn’t set off alarms, so I would think somebody reported the account.

      • I’m getting there myself. Only useful to talk with distant friends and family, but I think most of them are ignoring me these days.
