City Poem: Gaia

The western Sister
Largest of her siblings
Bustling with every race
From orc to elf to calico
Each living side by side
As griffins guard the sky

Sun glints off the tower
Built by rainbow stones
Cascading on a marketplace
Bigger than most towns
Estates and simple homes
Scattered about the landscape

Gaia is a gem of law
Where Grand Counselors rule
Keeping thieves at bay
And helping all live strong
Yet there is always struggle
In a metropolis so vast

The city still has brothels
And bars along the docks
Thieves still claim the shadows
Against the mighty guard
A paradise it may not be
But the city is always true

Gaia has its mysteries
The southern mountain out of place
Home to griffins and their guards
Arena ancient and defiant
Here before the city born
Do they hold secrets from the past?

So visit here and see what is
Step behind the wall
Of thickest stone
See the sights and people
And hear the common phrase:
All heroes pass through Gaia

Legends of Windemere: Prodigy of Rainbow Tower Coming July 31st!!!!

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Charles, You have such a way with words. You can tell a story without effort. Or I might be prejudice because you are my best friend in the entire world. Do I tell you that often enough? Nope. Didn’t think so.
