I listen to Pandora when I’m blogging and writing. There have been a few times the songs fit what I’m writing, which is great. Hero by Skillet for a Luke scene is an example of this.
Today, it is very hot and humid. I’m also sleepy. I get a bunch of songs about sleeping, dreams, and hot. Hot Stuff by Donna Summer, Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf, etc.
So, has anyone else ever had a song randomly show up and make you go ‘Really? Now?’

Ah, the power of suggestion

I thought so. I didn’t know if I should out myself for not knowing the conversion. Which sounds rather stupid right now.

Got it . . . nope . . . my math-shunning brain doesn’t have it. I’ll just smile and nod like a good little author.

I had that mentality in Florida. Hit a 100, I gave up on the day and sprawled on the couch with my laptop in reach, bootleg iced tea in a thermos, and something on the television.

Definitely. At least over here in the suburbs. In Florida, not so much. Also, bad idea to jump in a body of water down there. Dang snapping turtles.

Teach him to stay away from red-headed barbarians and tiny dragons. Should the rest of us be nervous about you controlling a giant crocodile?

Yes! A couple of days ago my sister tweeted me asking how I was feeling. As I was typing the answer the song Feelin’ Good Again by Robert Earl Keen came on the radio reflecting my sentiments exactly.

It’s stranger when the radio does it because that has commercials and talking.

Ugh, I had to turn off Pandora the other day with similar problems! I was already having a down day and every song on four stations was melancholy! I needed pick me up not bring me down! LOL

It’s bizarre, isn’t it? I know there’s other types of songs on there.

Yes so do I! In fact most days it’s so peppy I have to take breaks from it, but the few days I really needed it….nada!

I use Pandora as a writing tool–I have stations tailored to specific types of scenes–fight music, romantic music, contemplative/introspective music. So, yeah, it happens to me all the time, and by design. In fact, I’m considering making a “torture scene” station, since that’s what I’ll be writing next–I’m thinking Bahaus, Sisters Of Mercy, and Joy Division as seeds.

Never thought of that. That’s a great idea. I’d say put Bieber in the torture mix, but I don’t think torturing yourself is what you meant.

Ahhh this is why I have doubletwist on my laptop and not Pandora…. this way my music stays my music and no unpleasant surprises 😉
I also have various playlists…. battle, porn, magic, epic tales, to name a few :p
