This isn’t so much an origin, but a forming idea that came, went, and has returned. A few years back, I was going to run a game in a system called ‘Big Eyes, Small Mouth’. This is for anime-type games. The plot was that a group of aliens have been brought to a war torn world to help the inhabitants stop the fighting. Well, one side picked them as generals because of their violent, solider-style pasts. The game never got off the ground and left me with a non-Windemere story that I never knew what to do with. Part of me thinks I can use it to introduce a few aliens to Windemere, but that might be pushing things.
The other issue is that I never had an idea of what to do with them when the war they are involved in is over. Each one had a back story that came from their world, so I guess it would move on to their own world or a voyage home. That could make it a long series until everyone is either home, dies, or finds a place to live. So, the overall story is having some issues. I like the idea of every hero being a former soldier from a different war with different demons.
I had half considered making all of them escaped experiments to be used in a war, but they think they’re from actual species. That could fit them into Windemere and remove the trouble of having them planet jump. Here are the characters:
Esh Lee– small moth-woman with exorcist and spirit attack powers. Comes from a world where the moth people enslaved the butterfly people. Their idea of ugly and beautiful are reversed from what we think. She is rather racist and hateful, so she gets to evolve a lot.
Newton– a dinosaur man who is being hunted by the dragon men that fear he’ll revive their fallen enemies. In reality, he was a throwback that combined the dinosaur and dragon DNA into their shared ancestral species.
Nekomiya– Catgirl assassin by a new gamer. Not much else to tell about this one beyond cat-people war where she’s the princess of one side. She also has a sacred necklace. If I go Windemere then she’s going to be the one that knows about the truth and is observing how these new weapons operate in a war.
Opterisus– A monster created for a war that ended before he was completed. So, he has no purpose and is rather lonely.
Morgan– A scaly, flying, bat, dragon woman? I lost my notes on her, but I think she was the one hunting Newton. So, she might be going hero at some point.
This is one of three ideas that I want to fine-tune this week. I’ll post about the other ones for feedback as the week progresses.

Hey Charles, I had a thought. I think the next art style I am going to try is manga. Would you like to work together and maybe make a little comic?

Sure. I can give it a shot. Any idea to the plot or characters?

Let’s keep it simple. Maybe an origin story for a new super hero. Since we need more female super heroes, needs to be a female. Those are just off the cuff thoughts I had.

I’ve made a few female superheroes in the past. They’re really fun to make.

Cool, have you ever done a comic script before? It’s almost like doing a movie script, but essentially you go panel by panel of how you want it laid out and if there is any special things you want drawn into it. I think I’ll email you so as to not bore people on your site, lol.

No problem. I’ve never done a comic script before, so this will be a new experience.

It seems very interesting! I’d say think a lot about that,I mean it would be nice to work on another world!I know that it would be a very long job but still maybe it’s worth it!

I used to have multiple worlds and it began to get confusing keeping everything together. That’s why I put everything into Windemere, but that was before this idea came up. I still have my space bounty hunter outside the Windemere world. So, maybe they can go in with that one.
I think it’s also going to depend on which overall plot has the most mileage. Soldiers taken from various planets would be great for a new world, but it leaves the issue of ‘what do they do after the new world’. Experiments with false memories is very Wolverine-esque, but it would lead to easier closure. I’m really going to have to think about this one. I already have two massive series in the works, so a third one feels a little daunting.

Yeah I know the feeling, I did the same with Sonrisa! I put everything there to get less confused! But still if you have a good base and a few ideas to create an entirely different thing it’d be worth thinking! Like a new galaxy or something like that! 😀

My space characters are leaning more toward another world. At least my space bounty hunter can’t really get to Windemere. She might be in a neighboring galaxy, but that’s pretty far away.

Give yourself time! Maybe when you decide you’re done with Windemere you could think to The space bounty hunter saga!

Actually, I’ve decided that when I done with Windemere, I’ll probably be too old to continue. I have about 40 series that take place in the world.

Ahahaha! Really? You’re genius I knew! I wish I could say the same! But you’re never too old to do what you love!

Was thinking more along the lines of arthritis and the possibility of being one of those fantasy authors who passes away before he finishes. It’s very common, which is one reason I make detailed notes. That way my ideas can still come to life even after I’m gone at 100.

Good thinking! I try to do the same and leave instruction to my best friend just in case! I’m a bit creepy but it hasn’t been a nice year! Do you know that Joyce had problems with his eyes and till the end he wrote his books writing one or two words per page! Everything in order to write. I kind agree with him! I have tennis elbow and I dry my tears, but I’m glued to the computer!

Did not know that. Whatever it takes.
