I noticed my last post title was horribly spelled. I’ve been under stress today for the following reasons:
- The toddler was sent home with a high fever, coughing, sore throat, and all levels of grossness. He only had the cough when he left this morning.
That’s really it. I have been coughed on, sneezed on, cried on, and clung to like I was the only thing keeping him from falling off the planet. It’s viral, so he just got his fever medicine. Am I annoyed that I haven’t touched my novel and will have to delay a scene I’ve wanted to write since 1999 by another week? A bit. Am I exhausted? Yes. Do I still have to make dinner? Yes. Did I buy the toddler an entire package of mini Red Velvet cupcakes, 8 yogurt packs, and two boxes of mini-muffins? Without hesitation. Did I fix his nightlight? Somehow.
Basically, I’ve gotten next to nothing done with writing. No change in sales since Wattpad, but it’s still early. Nothing back from Author Alliance on the free book promotion. I’m testing this out to see if it makes my Advertising List. The post is saved as a draft and just waiting a verdict. I got two poems done today and some thinking.
All that being said . . . I don’t know. Just hoping I don’t catch what the toddler has. By the sound of a sneeze, I gotta go.

When it rains, it pours. But what stands out is you’re such a good Dad ! ! Your kid is so lucky to have a Dad like you.

Now that sounds like a busy day, Charles!!! I’d say you were pretty productive considering all the distractions. 2 poems and thinking…are nothing to be sneezed at! I couldn’t help myself!! Please feel free to yell, “Off with her head!!” 🙂 Hugs

The thinking has fallen by the wayside though. I’m too tired and overworked to remember what I had figured out. Going to have some coffee and my wife is taking over the toddler once she gets home. Mostly he goes to bed, but he’s going to be all her’s tomorrow. I might be able to get a chapter section done tonight if I’m lucky.

Toddler’s are a handful. Here’s hoping you get some writing done tonight 🙂

Thanks. If I’m too exhausted for the novel, I might get some outlining done.

I’d discovering that outlining is very important. I never used to do that. 🙂

Thanks. I’ll put those points into staying awake for tonight. That or ‘guilt trip wife’, so she’s the one to wake up with him.

Hoping you and your wife escape the germs. But it sounds like you did the most important thing today you should have done.

Yup. I’m not sure I avoided the germs though. Took a few sneezes to the face. Hazards of the job. At least if I’m sick, the toddler wanders over to pat me on the head. Last time he tried to read me a story. It was a Toys R Us magazine that he’s been carrying around for the last two months, but it had such a riveting plot.

Adults generally have built up their immune system. Toddlers really do need to get sick to start building up theirs.

True. Just wish he could have been sick when I had my dad around as back-up. If anything, I think I need him to keep my head on straight.

And yet I talk your ear off all day. Insensitive I am. and I am doing it again. Sorry that:(

It’s 11PM now. Baby is sort of asleep and I’m inching toward actually getting some writing done. Deciding on if a 3 page chapter section is good or I’m wasting my time. It’s a dream sequence and I need to spread these out anyway, so maybe this isn’t a bad thing.

I think it could work. I always appreciate variations anyway. Gives me a break while reading to use the loo.

Good point. Is loo the distant cousin of john?

Why of course not. Loo is the brother that inherited the castle. Where I cam from we scoff at John. 🙂

I am going to go take my dogs for a very windy walk and leave you to your work. The temptation to discuss squirrels and housewives will prevent me from being able to leave you alone otherwise. Good evening Charles. I hope your boy feels better by morning.

Night. If the toddler is still sick tomorrow then the wife will be home to tackle him. I’ll get some writing done even if it kills a few innocent bystanders along the way.

Some things are more important than even writing. Don’t place the extra stress on yourself. Take care and take care of that little one. 🙂

Thanks. Hopefully, the toddler is better by the end of the day.

Just catching up with my Reader stuff and it sounds like you’re having/have had a tough time of it but sometimes a Dad’s gotta do what a Dad’s gotta do and I’m sure you do it really well. 🙂

I’m trying. Today didn’t go any smoother even with my wife home to help.
