Delays . . . Exhaustion . . . Still Damn Proud

I noticed my last post title was horribly spelled.  I’ve been under stress today for the following reasons:

  1. The toddler was sent home with a high fever, coughing, sore throat, and all levels of grossness.  He only had the cough when he left this morning.

That’s really it.  I have been coughed on, sneezed on, cried on, and clung to like I was the only thing keeping him from falling off the planet.  It’s viral, so he just got his fever medicine.  Am I annoyed that I haven’t touched my novel and will have to delay a scene I’ve wanted to write since 1999 by another week?  A bit.  Am I exhausted?  Yes.  Do I still have to make dinner?  Yes.  Did I buy the toddler an entire package of mini Red Velvet cupcakes, 8 yogurt packs, and two boxes of mini-muffins?  Without hesitation.  Did I fix his nightlight?  Somehow.

Basically, I’ve gotten next to nothing done with writing.  No change in sales since Wattpad, but it’s still early.  Nothing back from Author Alliance on the free book promotion.  I’m testing this out to see if it makes my Advertising List.  The post is saved as a draft and just waiting a verdict.  I got two poems done today and some thinking.

All that being said . . . I don’t know.  Just hoping I don’t catch what the toddler has.  By the sound of a sneeze, I gotta go.

Now that sounds like a busy day, Charles!!! I’d say you were pretty productive considering all the distractions. 2 poems and thinking…are nothing to be sneezed at! I couldn’t help myself!! Please feel free to yell, “Off with her head!!” 🙂 Hugs

  4. Hoping you and your wife escape the germs. But it sounds like you did the most important thing today you should have done.

    • Yup. I’m not sure I avoided the germs though. Took a few sneezes to the face. Hazards of the job. At least if I’m sick, the toddler wanders over to pat me on the head. Last time he tried to read me a story. It was a Toys R Us magazine that he’s been carrying around for the last two months, but it had such a riveting plot.

  6. Some things are more important than even writing. Don’t place the extra stress on yourself. Take care and take care of that little one. 🙂

Just catching up with my Reader stuff and it sounds like you’re having/have had a tough time of it but sometimes a Dad’s gotta do what a Dad’s gotta do and I’m sure you do it really well. 🙂
