I might become a rare entity over the weekend. I wake up at butt-crack before dawn to get my parents going on their 2 week trip to California. So, I’m going to be exhausted and probably post up a few poems or any updates that come my way. Nothing major over the weekends.
With my parents gone, I’ve got the house to myself just in time to start writing Legends of Windemere: The Compass Key. For those counting, this is book 5 of the series. So, I will have plenty of quiet and space to work. Unfortunately, I’m also going to be the only one home to handle my son when he comes home and drags me outside. I’ll be vanishing from the blog-o-sphere around 3:30pm most days. I also have volunteered to make dinner, which means I have to figure out how to do that while he has me outside. I’m probably going to make dinner midday and it can be reheated after he goes to bed since my wife gets home late from her new job. This is easy with the Chicken Parmesan, marinated chicken over salad, and the penne with homemade vodka sauce. Yes, I make my own vodka sauce and I am damn good at it. Best thing about that last recipe is that it gets 10 times better when it sits in the fridge for a day. I’m digressing.
All of this means I’m not going to be pouncing on my reader as rabidly as I typically do. I need to focus on writing and advertising. On weekdays, I’m going to try to get through the reader in the evening and morning. I can get an hour of reading scattered throughout the day too. This is mostly to take advantage of having more quiet time for two weeks and various events have sucked away my weekends.
Maybe this will help me kick my reader habit, which I almost handled until this past week when I went reblog crazy. There is always the chance that my darling wife will take some of the pressure off on her non-work days to let me focus on cooking and writing. That’s when the sweet sauce meatball grinders and chicken satay burgers are going to come into play. God, I missed cooking with all the diets and preferences in this house.
Guess my goals for next week are cooking and getting the first 3-4 chapters of my book done.

What time is dinner LOL? Everything sounds so good that I missed all the talk about writing. Why write when you can eat. 🙂

Dinner is probably going to be after 7. maybe 8 due to everything taking time. The following week is going to have some even more interesting dishes. I’m down by one though.

Let me know how it goes. I don’t put the cheese on due to me being strange. The recipe works amazing well for a pasta sauce too. I have yet to test it on a meatball pizza.

I admit the apple jelly and marinara sounds odd, but a party staple around here is meatballs in a mixture of ketchup and grape jelly of which no one can get enough. So, I’m game.

Cool. Make sure to get pizza sauce though. It tastes better with the apple jelly than the pasta sauce. Learned that from experience. 🙂

I hope you get inspired and get lots of writing done! Opportunities for peace and quiet are essential to making dents in new novels!

Thanks. I’m already looking over my outline and making sure I know where I’m going. After the prologue, this book goes right into the action due to how the fourth one ended. 🙂

They’ll be driving right by us. We’re in land from Ventura coastal area which is 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. If they want to take a detour to come visit us in Ojai, we’re game (providing I’m not working that day-I still work in a clinic part time). If you have my address and want to get our info to them feel free to e-mail me. Wouldn’t that be fun to meet your folks! 🙂

Thanks, but I don’t think they would visit. They have a strict schedule that my dad has been working on for months. I can ask them, but I wouldn’t count on them visiting.

Completely understand. They’re heading to two great cities and will probably have a busy, full, terrific time. 😉
