Wilderness
Greeting the fresh view
As sky fire drinks the dew
The river warms as it runs fast
Weaving through the forest for years past
Fire licks at clouds above and water down low
Bathing the serenity in a cloak of calmness
(Man, this style is rough.)
About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
You did an outstanding job with this prompt!
You captured the spirit of the photo and even went beyond the boring old realm of humanity to another place I wish to reside or at least visit!
Great Poem Charles!
Btw I am about to order your book here in a second after I get done checking my emails, I can’t wait until it gets here!!!!
Sorry for it taking me so long, PayPal and green dot visa cards together=chaos

Thanks and don’t worry about. I’m patient and look forward to hearing what about what you think about it. I’ll admit I’m always curious to find out what a reader’s favorite character is. Though, the poor priest has no fans while the halfling thief and the dog have left Luke in the dust.

I felt calm after reading the poem. It felt so peaceful. Nice use of the photo and a brilliant verse. π

Thank you. I was originally going to write something energetic, but it came out peaceful and soothing. I think the word ‘serenity’ got caught in my head.

And…it worked quite well! (Reading the book right now…and yes, I will let you know who my favorite character is…once I finish the first two-three chapters)

Great. Feel free to change favorites as secrets are revealed and new friends debut. Mostly, I don’t think the gnome shows up until chapter 5 or 6. π

Now you are revealing things to me…not fair π¦ π

Don’t worry. One day you will finish your novel, publish it, and continue the cycle of authors teasing readers. π

Haha LOL…I hope so!! π If I don’t reply, it means I am engrossed in your book and it also means “I am engrossed in your book” which means I am engrossed in your book. Phew. Did that make sense?

Got it. Just remember to come back out for food and sleep, which is something I forgot a few times while writing it. π

I have two favorite characters. I just love Stiletto! Luke is good, but Stiletto is great! SO, 1. Stiletto and 2. Luke π

π Stiletto always seems to win people over. It’s always between him and the halfling.

I like Selenia too! She seems the stern type…the people you wouldn’t want to mess with. I bet she has got something important to do in the end…wondering…gotta sleep now. Reached page 82. Will remember the page number for tomorrow. You write beautifully. I will tell you more when I wake up tomorrow. I can’t seem to think right now. It’s 5:15 AM here and I am still awake lol. Good night. Stiletto…he is still with the other dogs right now and Luke hasn’t paid him a visit…! Your book is lovely! Good night. Can’t keep up much longer.

Thanks and goodnight. I should start putting a disclaimer on my book that it should be read with a timer. People keep telling me that they stay up too late with it. Yeah, I did have some trouble bringing Stiletto into the action in the school.

Really good! Awesome job on this one, I could’t have done it. (so I didn’t, some times people have to know their limits right?) π

Yeah. I starting to find mine with a few of them. Rhyme schemes throw me off a lot.

I have to say, you’re book is one that kept me up late reading. I couldn’t put it down! Same with book #2, I stayed up a lot longer than I should have reading, but it is so good!
Oh, and I love the poem! Feel like I’m there right now, watching the sun come up. π

There isn’t too much of a difference. The challenge comes from having a specified style. That’s when I scratch my head and count syllables on my fingers.

I actually like the discipline of the form (which surprised the heck out of me!) as long as I can choose the topic! lol I’m a finger counting fool!!! π
