This book can be considered a supplement or teaser for Rachel Morgan’s full novel, The Faerie Guardian. It really does a fantastic job of making the reader interested in reading her full novel. The creatures are fascinating and the few that are mentioned as part of the novel help add to the excitement.
The part that I was happily surprised about is that the characters are so vivid and clear. Even though these are excerpts of maybe a page or two, the characters are well-defined. You get a solid idea of each character’s personality and quirks from this collection of shorts.
My only issue is that there are a few creatures aren’t described or investigated as much as the others. One is simply talked about by two characters, which was a little disappointing.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves magical creatures and wants to get a taste of this talented author’s style before going on to the full novel.
You can find this book at Amazon for .99 cents. Her full-length novel The Faerie Guardian can be found at Amazon for 2.99.
She is also on Goodreads for An A to Z of Creepy Hollow Fae and The Faerie Guardian, which is next on my reading list.

This looks cool!

It was really fun and I can’t wait to read the novel. I will once my wife gives me back the Kindle. She snagged it to read an erotic romance novella I downloaded.

Wow. I’m jealous. I think we’re going to be swapping the Kindle back and forth, so we can share the books and both do reviews for fellow authors. Either that or she’s getting back on her romance book kick.

Lol. I actually bought the kindle fire first but the battery life sucks so then I bought the basic one and then someone gifted me the paper white with their book, so now I never use the basic one because there is no backlight to read at night:(

My parents and sister got me the paper white one. My sister used to have the fire, but she had ‘disagreements’ with it. No idea what that means. My mom has the original basic one, but I’m much happier with my bright screen. I really could have used this during the Superstorm Sandy outage last year. I was stuck reading books with a flashlight held under my chin.

Ha! I did that a few days ago when a thunderstorm knocked out the power–my kindle fire was yet again, on the charger

Which also makes me a horrible person for accepting the gift and then leaving them a 3 star review 😦

That’s why you never try to bribe a reviewer . . . or an ex-girlfriend’s husband. 😀

Probably not. I described her ex as the evil child of James Bond and Lex Luthor. Charming, smooth, ambitious, and slimy.

I’d go with Mystique from the X-Men movie. Always up to something.
