Today is going to be a day of minimal posting. At least that’s the plan. I have to tangle with a toddler who doesn’t take too kindly to a change of sleeping schedule while my wife escapes the house. Though she has yet to escape the bed, so she might not be going anywhere today.
For some reason, yesterday was a day of horrific noise that shattered what little patience and concentration I had. So, I got very little done. I still have the end of chapter 10 to edit, which will leave me with 9 chapters to edit in 2 weeks. I’m still reading The Dragon’s Disciples and it’s looking like I have to finish that in the same amount of time before my family invades my schedule like Viking raiders. I’ve got Bar Mitzvahs, Birthdays, and a convention once March fades away. So, my weekends are going to be limited in terms of blogging, editing, and outlining. If history tells me anything, I’ll be spending most of these events standing in a corner with my son who is scared of crowds of strangers. I know when this fear started, but nobody believes me. It isn’t like I’ve known the kid since he was born or anything. 😛
So, today will be a day of reading when my son doesn’t want me to join in his fun. I can do the editing tonight when he goes to bed. Then there’s Project Phoenix. I have the urge to tackle this white whale again. Nothing beyond listing all of the heroes and stories that I’ve had. I’m definitely leaning toward making it a series of stand-alone books that focus on the rebirth of the Mylrixians. These are beings who gained unique powers when the plane of magic merged with the physical plane. An event caused the gods to seal these beings before they turned on the rest of Windemere. Now, they’re back and have retaken their abandoned city. Basically, these beings are the superheroes that I had for some Earth stories, but I’ve brought them to Windemere. They clear up a few issues like this abandoned city that I never had a story for and the fact that nothing really went wrong when Mylrix crashed.
The issue still appears that I have a massive cast of characters. There are at least 20 superheroes and I always found that some of them fell by the wayside whenever I tried to put them together. So, it’s probably smarter to have a core group that have their own stories and make cameos in other stories then bring them all together for the grand finale battle. I just have to organize it and possibly add in a few solitary heroes that I have hanging around. It’s an organizational mess, which needs sorting . . . or maybe I can start making origin posts of these guys to get some feedback. Interesting possibility, which still requires a list.
Looks like it’s a busy day, so I guess it’s time to stop putzing (my new favorite word) around.

Origin posts of the characters would be interesting… at least to me. It’s like a fine meal… knowing the recipe behind it and all the individual ingredients that make it what it is, to me, makes me appreciate the meal all the more. (dumb analogy I know)… 🙂

That’s a good analogy actually. Doing the origins can also help me flush out the characters in their new forms and get feedback that might help me with the overall idea.
