So, I’ve voiced my opinion about getting back into writing. Today, I want to know what other people think about picking up the pen/pencil/laptop again. I’m sure many authors have had to take a break and return, but I feel it’s different for everyone. To be clear, I’m talking about sitting down to write a new book after a long break.
- Have you ever had to take a long break from writing and how did that affect you?
- What is something you would do to help get back into writing?
- What advice would you give to someone who is returning to writing after a long break?

Lowering expectations for a lot of things can relieve some stress. Why would an editor wait a year to give a rejection? Sounds cruel.

I think she thought she was trying to spare me from bad news. But giving me the false hope fir a year that she might accept it, when she knew she rejected it, was worse.

Yeah. False hope is agonizing.

Hello, I’m curious how has the traction been so far? I work around ebook visibility and outreach, so I always like seeing how authors position their launch.

At this time, I’m not publishing anything new. I can’t afford cover art or any marketing. I don’t have the time for marketing either with work, parenting, and other things. Right now, I’m just getting back into the act of writing in the hopes that I can return to publishing one day.
