After looking at ice age animals, I wondered who the survivors were. There were plenty to choose from, so it was hard to decide. I took a lot and some were oddly surprising. Enjoy.

North American Beaver

Bison

American Black Bear

Caribou

Cougar

Gray Wolf (Not a Dire Wolf)

Ground Squirrel

Humans (They did show for the end of the Ice Age)

Musk Ox

Reindeer

Salmon
About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
Good information. There is now archeological evidence that humans co-existed with woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers.

Nice group. Some of them were much larger back then.

Gosh! Salmon and ground squirrel are surprising. I wouldn’t have thought the squirrel would easily survive such cold.

To me, the squirrel makes more sense than the salmon. It can burrow into the earth for warmth. Guess the salmon can stay in open ocean too.
