Kinderhook Blob
Found in New York, this creature was first spotted in the 1960’s. Two children saw it first, but all those afterwards were adults. All of them encountered the Kinderhook Blob while walking in the woods. So, what did people see?
Well, the name pretty much suits this creature. It is found in the woods of Kinderhook, New York and it’s a blob. It is white and floats through the area like a ghost, but doesn’t seem to be considered one. It has no features, so people can’t tell if it’s staring outside of a ‘feeling’. Some say that even though it floats, it still makes noise as if it’s stomping on the ground. It might make a creepy whistling noise as well.
That’s pretty much where the information ends. I found this one interesting only because it was somewhat consistent in description, but no other stories. A white blob floats through the woods and chases people or makes them so scared that they go running away without a second thought. It really makes me think of ghosts, but it’s called the Kinderhook blob instead of the Kinderhook ghost. Maybe I just missed that name when looking around.
So, what do you think about this kind of creature?

I’d say ghost, if you believe in them, or a joke!

That gets points for creativity. I’d never heard of this one.

It doesn’t sound like an animal just mistaken for something strange, but maybe something in the atmosphere.

Like a blotch of fog?

I’m going to go with ghost too. The stomping noise says there is more to it than just a blob.

It is not far from Ichabod Crane historic school house, so maybe it is connected to a ghost from Sleepy Hollow, lol.

Interesting. That area seems to be fairly haunted.

Not sure about ghost. Most ghosts seem to take the form of the person they were, not a white blob. I don’t know where or when the ghost looking like a white sheet came from, but in most hauntings, it’s not common.
If not a ghost, then what? The idea of a thick mist sounds plausible, but only in such a confined area with no mention of mist around?
A decidedly weird one.

Some ghosts do take on ectoplasmic blob forms. It’s about them retaining their sense of identity. If they stop remembering who they are, they can lose their forms and go blobby or ethereal.

Oh, right! Maybe a ghost then.

That one has just enough detail to be scary, but it’s vague enough to be… even scarier!

Good point. Think I’ll avoid the area.

I love it. It’s a degree different and doesn’t sound like some prankster copied what came before. Very cool.

I live in this area and one of these times I will have to go out and look for this creature or ghost. Kinderhook is about 5 miles away.

Not sure if I should wish you good luck on finding it or good luck on it not finding you. 😁
