Summer on the Horizon

Summer break starts this week.  I’m dragging myself to the finish line.  Got posts about summer plans coming up.  So . . .

Anybody have fun plans for the summer?

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Good meme! My only summer plan so far is going to a music festival, but I want to do some creative stuff as well as getting back to film reviews even though I’m active on my main blog now.

    • Sounds like fun. I’m working, but the summer schedule gives me more downtime than a regular school year. Good luck with your film reviews.

It is something I’m looking forward to since I do have some friends who are active in music who are playing at that festival. I’m also working over the summer, but it was good to have a few days off to go to this event. Over the past year, I’ve been starting to appreciate vacations a lot more since I never had a vacation this decade until last year when I went to that festival for the first time. That and I had never been out of this state in the 2020s until my trip to Philly a couple of months ago.

Thanks. I still have some DVDs at my place involving documentaries and a few international movies (some British, Brazilian, and Senegalese ones) to watch.

      • Think I went for a decade without a real vacation once. Not fun.

YIKES! That is a very long time! I haven’t had a vacation for a long stretch of years (I’m not counting random days off, being sick, or family emergencies) until last year, but that must be so draining.

      • Money was tight and time off had to be used to visit family who was far away. Don’t have that issue anymore.

I can definitely relate to that especially with previous jobs that didn’t pay well and had to take care of other things like bills (obviously), medical stuff when it happened, student loans, eventually a car note, etc. While my situation is far from perfect, it’s not as much of an issue as it was back then.

      • Same here. Hope both our situations keep getting better. (Why did autocorrect try to change ‘better’ to ‘worse’?)

Sure thing. That is a bizarre usage of autocorrect joke or not.

  3. The only plan I have is to complete editing on my current WIP and then get it to beta readers and then to the editor. Publish in January at this point. I hope you have a great summer.

  4. Work weeks are all the same. I write when I’m off, but am excited about some concert tickets in July.
