Questions 3: The Power Up for You!

Blue Shell from Mario Kart

This might be more difficult than I assume.  Being someone who has played video games since childhood, I’m used to temporary Power Ups.  Others might not be so quick to think up anything.  So, take your time if you want to answer.  After all this is all in good fun and maybe you’ll think about something you really need.  We could all use some kind of power ups in our lives from time to time.  (I’m pretty sure that’s a slogan for coffee.)

  1. What type of Power Up could you really use?
  2. How would you take it?
  3. Would there be any side-effects after it worked?

Mine answers:

  1. Mental clarity to help with focus and time management.
  2. It would be a potion because I hate pills.
  3. Side-effect would be that coming down would result in an hour of being entirely useless.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. The Power Up I could really use is no need for sleep for five days.
I would take it in a gin martini.
After it worked the side effect would be 48 hours of REM sleep.

    1. I actually take something that could be considered a power up. I have hypothyroidism and have to take thyroid medicine. If I don’t, I barely have energy. Other than that, I would love one that would give me enhanced vision for proofreading or editing projects.
    2. I don’t mind pills or powder in juice (like some vitamin C is taken).
    3. I get really hungry when I take the thyroid medicine. For the enhanced sight, I would imagine weariness would be a side effect.

Energy enough for a ten-mile hike! Two pills, taken with a Moscow Mule. And an ice bath followed by a hot shower for the overwhelming muscle aches afterward!
