Now, I know this was supposed to be an October event and things were going to go back to non-music during November.  The problem is that I felt wrong doing this for all of the books, except for War of Nytefall: Ravenous.  Next Monday will have songs for the overall series too just to give people a warning.  I stumbled onto a lot of songs that worked for both, which is why I couldn’t stop until it was all on the blog.

At first, I was going to use this for another book, but the words made me think of something in Ravenous.  Not Desirae Duvall, but I could make that connection.  It’s the addiction subplot that kept popping into my head when I thought about where this song fit into the series.  I just imagine the suffering character practically begging with the addiction to be left alone.

Surprised it took me this long to use an anime theme.  I was trying to avoid it, but this song is too perfect.  You have Desirae with her high libido that she doesn’t hide.  You have the person whose hunger has gone out of control.  The character with an addiction that they obviously can’t control.  You have people lusting after Desirae too.  Characters are just consuming and feeding their urges all over this book.

Linkin Park songs are always thrown into the mix when I’m writing.  At least, if Pandora is being nice to me.  I was torn between this or ‘Crawling’, but I didn’t feel the addicted character was at the second song.  This one makes me think about how the vampires consider time.  Some act like immortality gives them all the time in the world to reach their goals.  Others are never satisfied with going slow and need to continually make progress to justify their existence.  Then, you have ones who have fallen into the trap of immortality where pain doesn’t go away.  They begin to feel that nothing matters, but they don’t have an ‘end’ to look forward too.
