That’s what today feels like as I write this.  I’m typing this up before I leave for a family event.  Last night was a birthday party and tomorrow is ‘Detective Pikachu’ and another birthday gathering.  All of this is fun, but it can be exhausting.  Especially after the week I’ve had and the one I’m stepping into.  I’m going to categorize to make things easier.  Sadly, I don’t have a writing one because no progress in the WIP or sales has been made this week.  Just too busy.

Work

I’ve found that it’s weird to call this work since I do enjoy going and the day typically goes by quickly.  There was a meeting this week, which took up some time.  Found that I wasn’t too interested in lunch, but that might be because people keep talking about my weight as if I can’t fit through doorways.  Maybe I’m doing a little stress eating and I haven’t managed to fit in biking time for the last month.  Wow, going off topic because there isn’t much I can say here.  A coworker got me to play chess a few times . . . I’m really bad at chess.

Next week is going to be more low key since it’s standard.  I have to take a day off for the life event.  If things go a certain way, I’ll be able to name it next weekend.

TV Shows

Not much here.  With ‘Into the Badlands’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ done, I don’t have much outside of Netflix.  I’m dragging my feet on ‘The Punisher’.  Maybe I should just get Hulu and hop on all the animes that I see.  Only reason I don’t is because I want to finish the Marvel Netflix shows before they’re gone.  I’m finding I mostly use TV for background while working on puzzles.  ‘Lucifer’ Season 4 was fun and kept my attention though.

THE CAR

This was the second biggest event of the week.  My old car needed to be replaced.  It could run, but wouldn’t pass inspection next month.  The key didn’t always turn when I wanted it to as well.  A family friend had a 2002 Toyota Camry that they were going to get rid of and it’s in amazing shape.  So, the paperwork was taken care of and the car is mine.  My son and I spent the morning experimenting with the buttons then taking it out for a test drive.  There are seat warmers, an AC/Heater vent for the back, lots of airbags, 6 CD player that has been loaded with Rock music, lots of compartments, and a built in sun shade on the rear window.  I haven’t figured out the alarm nuances yet, so I’ll probably be setting that one off for a while.  My son is loving the digital compass built into the rear view mirror that he reads while we drive.  He wants me to try the moon roof again, but I still can’t figure out how to close it completely.  No idea why I would use it either.  Nice to have something go my way for once too.  It’s first real journey will be to ‘Detective Pikachu’ tomorrow.

Family

This was the scary part of the week.  My son had a small cold early on and panicked one morning before school.  He gets nervous when he’s sick because he fears throwing up.  He usually calms down once he gets to school, but I guess something went awry this time.  It resulted in a really big asthma attack that involved him being put in a wheelchair as a precaution.  Thankfully, my mom was able to get to him quickly and his doctor saw him immediately.  Grandma had the magic touch to get him to relax and eat.  There was some life event drama around his medication too, but a day of rest got him back on track.  The first person to call me about it didn’t reveal how severe it was, so I’m glad I talked to the nurse and got the true picture.  Otherwise, things could have gone south and I was able to tell his doctor that he was really having trouble breathing.  It threw me off for the rest of the day, but the other teachers understood why I had to step out to take care of things.  I would have stayed home with him, but my parents are around and I trust them to take care of him.  He was in fighting shape by the end of the day and earned his first green stripe in martial arts.

Staying on the family topic, my son has a big chorus concert on Monday.  I’m excited because he’s been singing ‘Queen’ songs for months in preparation.  They seem to be doing a medley of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘We Are the Champions’, ‘We Will Rock You’, and ‘Another One Bites the Dust’.  There are other songs involved, but he only cares about this collection.  Of course, this is why he insisted on both ‘Queen’ CD’s being included in my CD player choices.  I’ve got 2 of those, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorillaz, and Velvet Revolver.

The Future

As I said, the life event will be rising up as well as a few other things.  The week is going to start well and then get a little crazy.  Next weekend is Memorial Day, so I’ll be spending 3 days of fun with my son.  Depends on the weather since the big thing is a trip to the zoo and then we aren’t sure.  I have to cook some meals for the following week because I’m getting into a busy period.  Not too hard since the little guy wants to help.  Just a Penne with homemade Vodka Sauce and made cooked up a bunch of chicken filets to make dinners easier throughout the week.

Writing-wise, I have a post going up tomorrow about some ideas that I’m tinkering with when I can.  One takes more priority.  War of Nytefall: Eradication needs 5 days of all writing to get done.  I might be able to whittle away that number by using nights and get myself down to a weekend.  Really hoping this story is coming out well because of all the breaks.  We’ll see what happens.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and retain enough energy to write a section tonight after the family gathering.

Oh, man!  Pandora just started playing ‘Dearly Beloved’, which is the theme from ‘Kingdom Hearts’ theme.  Making me tear up because I’ve been having these strange bouts of vivid nostalgia.  Almost like my heart and mind want to go back in time because of all the stress.  I really need to find a way to get this out of my system, but I’m not sure if texting or blogging would work.  Guess it wouldn’t hurt to try and make it a Sunday post for next weekend.
