Cuddles and kisses
Saccharine dripping
From the pages
While others look on
From both worlds
Puppy love
First love
Slipping into other genres
Giving characters
A chance to be more human
Yet it can be out of place
Smooching among zombies
Cooing in combat
Goo-goo eyes during disaster
Boundaries must be made
And still we go too far
Caught up in the romance ourselves
Living through the scenes
And letting our characters
Being incredibly human
Excellent, Charles.

Love this, Charles! It reminds me of…me! 😀
While I am a HUGE fan of the romance genre, I get annoyed during my favorite action movies when car chases and explosions have to pause for the hero/heroine to have a ‘moment.’ LOL!
“Really? Could we please finish blowing up the city and annihilating aliens first?”
Thanks for the smiles! 😉

Glad you enjoyed it. I’m with you on the action movies and forced romances. They could work if the flow isn’t interrupted. Make sure all the bad guys are dead and then kiss. Doing the second part early is just asking for trouble. 😜

In the late 80s-early 90s, the mister and I bought our boys Nerf toys, which we would confiscate during movie time. Anytime the plot irritated us, the toys became ‘credibility bricks’ and we launched them at the television! LOL! Good times! 😀

I like that idea. Though I tend to give action movie plots a lot of leeway.

You know how sometimes characters say “this is the perfect time to panic” during an emergency? I think there might be a perfect time for romance in emergencies, too. YOLO takes on a whole new meaning during a zombie apocalypse, after all. 🙂

Wonder whatever happened to YOLO. It was everywhere a few years back. The. It disappeared.
