Raven’s Game Chat

haunted-walkway-14431078419OzWell, Raven’s Game ended a few days ago and I hope the few people who read it to the end had fun.  It’s tough to keep up with something like that in both the writing and reading, which seems to be more difficult when it comes to horror.  I learned long ago that this is a very niche genre at times because not everyone likes to be scared or they have certain terror standards.  No gore, but love suspense.  No jump scares, but love the blood and guts.  Everyone is different and many simply don’t like being scared in the first place, so this was an uphill battle.  Anyway, thank you to everyone who stuck with it and gave feedback.

The ending does allow for a third entry to the Raven Series next year.  Only question is if I can figure out the story.  Last year, I said I wasn’t sure about a sequel because I couldn’t get it right in my head at the time.  Same situation here, so I probably have to wait until something comes to me.  Also, I need to make sure there’s still interest.  I will say that having a month like this allowed for me making more progress during the day since the posts were at night.  At least I think it would if I didn’t have all those other headaches going on.

Let’s get down to the brass tacks, which is a phrase I never understood.  What did people think of Raven’s Game?  Would you read a third entry?  Please try to do so without spoilers too because there might be those who waited until everything was up.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I don’ scare with blood and guts… especially in that quantity 😉 But I loved the intrigue of the storyline…and will be disappointed if I don’t get to the bottom of it all next year 😉

  2. I would. I always fear missing a page, but managed to keep up just fine.

I thought it was good. This is your Friday the 13th series, and Dawn is your Jason.

  4. I would read the next set. I really liked the Dawn and Gemma relationship. I wonder if Dawn could ever corrupt Gemma and maybe if not a fellow officer of Gemma’s. Just a thought.

I really enjoyed it. Personally, I like my horror more on the suspense side than the gore side. Every day I knew I had something great to read. Definitely would love the story to continue next year!

    • I’m hoping to come up with a third story. I managed to do decent suspense in the first one and hit the gore with eeriness in the second. The third is going to be an attempt to combine them. For some reason, I want to have a cabin or campground be the location, but that feels far too over done.
