We strive to take control
Some wishing to be elite
Standing above the rabble
Kings and Queens
That may even wear a crown

Yet others are not as lofty
They wish to rule themselves
Take control of life
Just a tiny grip
Upon the world they build

So many things
Can jostle and batter us
Leaving many feeling hurt
Discarded pawns
While the bigger pieces thrive

To rule others is ambition
That society prides and thanks
To rule one’s self
Is a deeper challenge
That many take for granted

    That’s quite good, but I lost it when I saw Mel Brooks. All I can think of now is, “Oh piss boy!”
