  1. If you had the choice of any occupation, what would you actually like to be?
    .
Well it would need to involve my magic.  I would go with a researcher and caster trainer.  I’d have to get my own tower, but that isn’t as hard as non-magic people seem to think.  Once you get permission and can afford to hire people, the rest is just patience.  Then again, I’m kind of the heir to Rainbow Tower.  That means I’d definitely have to learn how to teach others.
    .
  2. Do you have any hobbies that you would like to be able to spend more time on?
    .
Sari would say my hobby is getting into bar fights, but I don’t do that any more.  So I would say reading.  Not only scrolls and maps that deal with my destiny, but history, various lores, and whatever else I can find in a library.  My entire life has been focusing on training for my adventures, so some fun reading would be a pleasant change.
    .
  3. What’s your favorite meal?
    .
A warm stew that has thick pieces of beef, carrot sticks, and potatoes cut into circles.  I love fruit and honey chocolate.  To be honest, I kind of like trail ration jerky.  Not sure what kind of meat that is.
    .
  4. Do you play any musical instruments–if so, what? If you don’t, what would you like to play?
    .
I can sing.  Rather well from what I’ve been told.
    .
  5. Is there any one in particular that you wish you didn’t have to be around?
    .
    Stephen.  He needs to die.
    .
  6. Have you ever been strongly attracted to someone and it never developed?
    .
Sari teases me about avoiding such emotions.  The truth is that I’m so busy.  A guy would have to be really interesting and unique to earn my attention.  Maybe one who was oddly persistent with pretty eyes.  Not that I have anyone in mind.
    .
  7. Are you surprised about what you have become? Is this what you expected when you were a child?
    .
There have been a few surprises, but I’ve been told of my destiny since before I can remember.  Did I see my new family coming?  No.  That’s probably the biggest surprise for me.  A child who knows she is destined to fight a looming evil only sees herself in the fight.  So knowing that I have people standing with me and becoming close friends with them still takes a little getting used to.
    .
  8. What is your biggest fear?
    .
Losing my friends and family.  I spent most of my life as an outsider, so I’m really protective of my loved ones.  Coming in at second is losing my magic and third is being touched by Stephen.  Makes me want to vomit just thinking about it.
    .
  9. If you could change places with another person in Windemere, who would it be and why?
    .
Maybe somebody with less responsibility on their shoulders?  I know it’s my path and I’m doing the best I can, but there are days where I want to be normal.  At the very least, I’d know I wasn’t born solely to be a weapon of destruction.
    .
  10. What makes you happy?
    .
Hot springs, chocolate, scented soaps, and being able to enjoy all of them at once before sleeping on a real bed.  After all these adventures, I still don’t like sleeping on the ground.
    .
  11. What does teamwork mean to you?
    .
Didn’t mean much to me at first since I thought I could face everything without breaking a sweat.  Now I know it’s the difference between life and death.  I’d be long gone without my friends and I’ve been told they feel the same way.  I know we tease and bicker at times. Yet you just forget every little personal squabble in the heat of the moment and jump into the fray like nothing is wrong.  This might be bleeding into the next question.
    .
  12. How would you define honor?
    .
I’m not really sure.  Unlike warriors, a caster focuses on knowledge and honing their aura.  Honor just kind of happens since there’s no code.  Then again, Paladins and priests are the only ones with real honor codes.  So maybe it’s nothing more than doing the right thing when faced with a difficult choice.  Whatever that right thing is can be different depending on the person.
    .
  13. What’s the best way to hunt monsters?
    .
Standing behind me while I cut loose with the combat spells.
    .
  14. What’s your first response when someone makes you really, really mad?
    .
Uh . . . I do kind of have a temper problem.  If it isn’t an enemy then probably knock them through a wall.  I’m trying to improve though.
    .
  15. What’s it like working for Charles?
    .
    Who?

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
