As I finish writing the Prologue for Book 10, I realized something that I should have paid more attention to.
February 24th is the 2 year anniversary for BEGINNING OF A HERO!
So I’ve been at this for a little over 2 years and I can say with assurance that I still have no idea what I’m doing. I may have an inkling of what to do, but I’ve stumbled a bunch along the way. Probably keep stumbling for a few years. Anyway, this post is about the first adventure of Luke Callindor and not me. Sort of. Whatever.
The thing is that I’m not sure if I should do anything for this. Last year I did a free weekend that didn’t go very well. The book did decent, but there’s so many Perma-Free books out there that it’s almost as combative as the paid lists. Being on there for a limited time ended up doing more harm than good. So that leaves the question on what I should do or if I should do anything.
A Goodreads Giveaway for a month? Possibly. I might post a midday ‘ask the author’ thing and see how that goes. Think I’m in the mood for something low key. Anyway, huzzah on the book’s birthday.
Haha. It is also one of my wedding anniversaries. #3 I think

Oh! I didn’t realize it was an old marriage. Was wondering why it was written that way. Sorry about that.

18 years is very impressive.

Not bad for meeting in a bar, drunk.

Plenty of relationships start that way. Means you already have the ‘this is what I’m like when drunk’ mystery out of the way.

He impressed me immediately when I dropped my drink and he swept the glass away and got me a new drink.

And the man doesn’t drink. Oh, maybe an occasional beer. He tolerates my vices though

Think of it this way. You have a live-in designated driver.

Trust me, I am very aware of that and take advantage of it.

Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
Time certainly flies especially when you are having fun.. a two year anniversary of the start of a fantastic series that stars Luke Callindor and his adventures.

Congrats Charles, that’s a real achievement. You should be proud. And to me it doesn’t seem like you’re stumbling at all – you always seem so assured in your blogging and marketing. Keep it up! 😀

Thanks. Though I’m running out of ideas to keep the promos going. Only so many times I can do the same interviews and marketing sites. Eventually one becomes part of the background there or not enough people move on from one book to another. So I’m starting to wonder what else I can do.

Well if even a writer who’s had as much success as you have struggles with the marketing side of it, then it must be a difficult thing to do! 🙂

Time management can be a problem too. There are groups I could join, but I don’t read fast enough to meet the requirements.

I can definitely sympathise with that!

Time has a bad habit of doing that, especially when you’re busy, busy. 😀

Thanks. It does seem like a short time. Though looking at some numbers, it doesn’t seem like I got very far.
