Who am I?
That some may wish to know
Not as much a stranger as you think
I am the hero and the villain
Every monster, god, and goddess
They are the masks that I reveal
Upon the page and screen
Who am I?
A father who works hard
To balance all the children
One of flesh and blood
All others on the mental plane
Each one yelling for attention
Creating endless dins
Who am I?
No different than the man you know
My stories make no change
College tales and whimsy fun
Not much from present day
Cooking, cleaning, and typing
I live the life of a stay-at-home
Who am I?
An author
A father
A friend
The person you have seen
On here for two long years
I truly have held little back

Nice. That pretty much says it all, for you and for many of us out here. π

Thanks. I wonder if most people seem to have a belief that others are hiding things. Like we have a juicy side that we keep in the shadows.

Haha! If only our juicy side wasn’t being lived by our characters, maybe we’d actually have a life.

Exactly. Why go off to slay a dragon while I have imaginary friends to do it for me? π

I think we pour ourselves out into our writing until we are like spent balloons, crashed out flat on our desks. When I get to that stage I read more books and slowly pump myself up again until fully inflated! LOL!

I actually stare at the ceiling or listen to music when I hit that point. I learned early on that using other books to recharge my imagination caused me to try and copy what I was reading. So I use reading between projects these days.

Thanks. Hard for us to wear so many hats. Especially when it’s windy.

It’s not easy to figure out who you are, but you have done that and expressed it perfectly. π

It might be easy to figure out, but hard to explain to others. I think people get tripped up on their identity when others act like they’re ‘wrong’ or ‘missing something’. Most times it’s the outer view that misses a piece of your picture.
