Last Tuesday, Ionia Martin of Readfulthings did a fun game that involved finishing a paragraph/scenario with a book, movie, or TV quote. It was a lot of fun and we thought we’d try it here.
I’m going to write a few sentences, the ending of a story, as such. Then I ask that you finish the last sentence. Here is the catch, though. You can only use quotes from movies or books to finish the sentence. Come on give it a try:
The scarred warrior had battled the undead hordes of Carvas and defeated the Necromancer of the North. He had defeated the great dragons of the countryside and earned fortunes beyond his youngest dreams. His armored has become dented and his weapons are worn. Yet his adventures have all been worth now that he has returned to his lady love. Upon seeing her smiling face, his exhaustion overtakes him and he utters one phrase before collapsing into her arms.

“I’ll be back.”

I didn’t know that. I should look for pics of that. I’m blanking on more quotes for some reason. I keep thinking of Mel Brooks:

Me too. Though the last time this was done, it took a while for that one to come up. Not sure why.

I have to admit that once I realized what the game was, or how it worked (I’m not entirely awake yet), the only thing I could hear in my head was, “RELEASE THE KRAKEN!”
Then I read that paragraph and sat here wondering if it was more relevant than I’d initially assumed it would be (which was not at all). I wish someone had been here to catch a look at my face.
I’m so sorry.
I probably shouldn’t have commented on this.

(I AM wondering how nobody else has used that one yet.)

I think that works pretty well actually. Seems ‘Release the Kraken’ has lost a little of its luster ever since it was turned into an Internet meme.

I’m not surprised that I missed the meme. I’m sure it was circulating around the time of the release (when I was holed up in my shed with no interaction).
Good thing it hasn’t lost its luster for me.
I was worried it worked a little TOO well. XD

I still haven’t seen the movie. Loved the campy original and I only use the TV for background noise these days. All writing, editing, and outlining. That reminds me that I need to do that 3rd activity today.
Too well is good for these things.

I watched that one. Bought the second, but I haven’t watched it yet. (I do that with movies on occasion. I’ll get to them all eventually.)
It really . . . wasn’t great.
I hope your outlining goes well!
And touche on the last bit. Touche . . .
