The touch of a wordless tune
Bringing me back to the games
That I played from years ago
Joyous memories of fun
Rygar and Blaster Master
Amazing at the time
Making me feel old
When I stumble upon them now
The list can go on for days
Creepiness of Metroid
Exhilaration of Castlevania
While Samus and Simon fight to victory
The melody of Kid Icarus
Alongside the tension of Contra
Both overshadowed
By the themes of Link and Mario

Reminds me of my oldest son and spending time with him. We always played together. I was good at thinking through puzzles and challenges and he was good with the action scenes and working the jumps and daring feats with the controllers.

I miss those old games. They were a lot more interesting to watch if it wasn’t your turn to play.

Thanks. Going to a BBQ after spending a day with the toddler in a toy store. Searching for a Yoshi doll.

I love this! Do you believe every time I hear the theme to Super Mario World for the NES it brings me right back to when I was living with my parents. And when I hear the theme to Donkey Kong 64, I’m in the throes of the early part of our marriage when my wife and I played games into the late hours of the morning. Loved those days. Thanks for the memories!

Happens to me all the time. Especially with any of the RPG’s that I played. Another favorite is Castlevania and I’m happy that I found my copy of Symphony of the Night. Hopefully it works and I can play it at some point.

Let’s not forget Zelda: Ocarina of Time! Instant transport to when my kids were playing it for the first time!

One of my favorites. I love the obscure ones too. Kid Icarus pops into my head at times. Bubble Bobble too. Sure we could spend days listing games. Like each one leads to another.
