Wake with a jolt
Cursing at the alarm
That shrieks for someone else
Joined by a rumbling stomach
That leads me to food
I think I have a donut
Hidden somewhere in the cabinet
I munch on crackers
While I search among the cereals
Finding an empty box
Settling for crunchy flakes
Coffee or tea
If I feel like hitting the button
Laziness is my speed
Eating enough to quiet the roars
I found cookies!

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Cookies and donuts are not that much different in the greater scheme of things. With the carbs at breakfast, it is probably better for you than eggs and sausage. Add a little freesh fruit and you have great meal.ALWAYS coffee though.
