A Few Author Databases

This is going to be quick:

I recently began registering with a few Indie Author databases.  Two so far that I feel like mentioning.  I’ll get to the specific after I mention how they work.  You register with your author information and get a profile.  Then you register your books along with your social media links.  The services vary with some sites being free and others having a pay option for some extra.

The Independent Author Network

This has a one time fee of $24.95, but I’m not sure if that’s only to register your books as well as yourself.  I went for this because I registered the Legends of Windemere series.  Now, a big thing with this site is that it has its own Twitter hashtag of #IAN1.  For those that don’t know how this works, it’s something you can use to search Twitter for associated tweets.  Sounds complicated, but it really isn’t.  Register and put this hashtag on to find fellow members.  Retweet when you can and the favor is usually returned.  I’ve seen a major rise in retweets, which would be higher if I didn’t keep forgetting this thing.  I see the site itself tweet about me and one of my books from time to time.

AuthorsDB

I just joined this one and it’s free.  So, I’m not really sure what it’s all about yet.  They have it that you can make a detailed page for your books and there’s nothing about a posting limit, so those with a lot of published books can get more up there.

It doesn’t hurt to register and see if it helps.  At least I don’t think it does, but be careful and research the databases to be safe.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Thanks for these links. I’m keeping them on my favorites so I can revisit them later on in the new year. Also, congrats for the awesome Amazon rankings! Your book is doing great! Keep up the good work!

    • You’re welcome and thanks. My book is definitely hanging in there. I have to get used to the big jumps and plunges that a $2.99 book takes. I’m really impressed with you though. Still on the lists after all this time is amazing. Late October and November are supposed to be terrible sales months, but you’ve flourished.

Thanks so much, Charles! I’m thinking it has a lot to do with word of mouth. That’s the only thing I can attribute to the book’s staying power on the charts. Seems to not want to let go, and honestly, I though it’d probably do well the first, maybe the second week after release. But gosh, it’s been a full two months and sales have been going great. It’s really crazy, for sure!

      • I’m sure it being a great book helps too. Honestly, there are a ton of bad zombie stories out there. Having a great one means people will talk about it more.

Ha! Well, I can’t comment on the other zombie stories because I haven’t read them, nor have I read a zombie story–ever, for that matter. I’m thankful folks have embraced Ranger and made him part of their lives for a brief moment in time. To me, that’s an awesome Christmas gift! In the meantime, keep doing what you’re doing. Your ranking is something I’d love to strive for but don’t really have time pull off. You’re doing a great job, Charles! Woot!

      • Definitely a great Christmas gift. Give the gift of sales to the authors on your holiday list.
