The Fireskins are a rare race, so not much gets told about their society over the course of Legends of Windemere. You learn more about Isaiah and Kalam as individuals than their species, so I’m going to give a small explanation.
These creatures are humanoid dragons with stocky bodies, long powerful tails, reptilian faces, and scales. They have no wings or breath weapon, which is rumored to have been sacrificed for great magic by their ancestors. Unlike other living species, they know basic magic from the moment they’re born and are trained from infancy. It is rare that you will find a warrior Fireskin unless he or she was traumatized and lost their magic. Many will lay down and die in such a situation, but a few have been known to carry on without their birth power.
Fireskins get their names from the fact that the live within active volcanoes and bath within the lava. It is only within their birth volcano that they are immune to the danger, which many people fail to realize. They are resistant toward fire, but you can still hurt them with such spells.
The only rite of passage that is known about these creatures is that they forge their own magic staff at the age of twenty-five. It is this staff that is a symbol of their adulthood and they protect them with their lives. Many Fireskin use part of their magic to make this item indestructible, which weakens their own power.
As time and my series move on, I may delve more into Fireskin society. They don’t come up too often because of their rarity and you never seem to find more than one in the same place. It’s a wonder they breed, but it could be that they’re like the Drites and those that want to have children gather for an event. I don’t know. Never been invited and not really interested.

So dig the picture.

Thanks. Stumbled onto it months ago, so I’m happy to use it whenever I can.

I’m wondering if I should use this instead of the capybara for my Sunday goal posts.
