Majestic beasts
Keeping to themselves
Sage and somber
Winged beasts of old
Descended from the dark ones
That turned the world to war
A lesson learned

And now they sleep, waiting for the wars to end, Their Reign to begin again. π

Thankfully it did end. Now they stay out of mortal affairs. π

Sounds like SkyRim. Have you played that one Charles?

Nope. My gaming kind of ended with the Gamecube and PS2. I’m too busy for games these days anyway. Not unless a friend comes over with one of the newer systems.

When you become rich and famous, and have some free time to kill, get Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, and Elder Scrolls: SkyRim for Xbox 360. Best games I have ever played.

By that time it might be Fallout 7 and Elder Scrolls 6. π

Gosh I hope so. I will play them as long as they make them.

I love Dragons and I truly believe they were real beasts that once roamed the world. Too many ancient cultures depict them for them to be pure fantasy.

All different types too. I love how there are so many varieties of them.

ahhh alas the Dragon, mighty lord of all mythical creatures… and I have not a single one in my NaNo story, nor the immediate intention of placing one in it… but one day perhaps I will write a story from the perspective a Dragon… I think that might be pretty cool… including all the Dragon hierarchy and lore and politics…

They’re a fun species to write when they show up. I use them very sparingly.

such a shame they don’t fit into the context of my story…

That’s always the trick. Best not to force them.

I agree… I am already forcing my writing too much trying to keep up with NaNo daily goals…I’m just going to stick to those original thirty prompts to guide the story… that and of course what I want to unfold… Dragons can wait… Dragons are known for their great patience so I am sure they will still be there in December…

Save ’em for the sequel. π

By the way Charles I should say thank you… You and Baldy showed me fantasy can be respectfully done. If not for you guys I would never have tried to write fantasy… near worship of all things Tolkien will do that you know… lol… As for a sequel who knows maybe NaNoWriMo2014 π

Glad to be of service. π Personally, I think the whole thing with fantasy writing is to just have fun.

Odd, but I never really thought about there being a non-organic type of dragon before your books.

The Weapon Dragons didn’t start that way. Originally, it was just the Nature Dragons and Drites. Then these guys proved to be too polite and nice for carnage and destruction.
