Visceral Waking

thI wake shaking
Though the weather be not cold
Muscles quivering
From a ghostly touch
Sweat dripping from my brow
Leaving my pillow soaked
I groan and whimper
Feeling my guts churn
Anxiety roiling them
Like an angry ocean
No memory of the cause
Just a sense of fear
Unsure of what befell
And terrified
That it will return
Once my eyes fall shut

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Like we are joined at the hip sometimes, no? Ugh, me too. Can’t shake off those last tendrils of whateverness either. You okay, love?
