Heartsick

I sit so far away

Knowing you’re in pain

Tasting fear

Not sure if mine or yours

My heart aches

Cracking at the seams

I think I feel it bleed

Dripping under my skin

The universe feels cruel

Revealing us now

When we cannot touch

Or declare our truth

I hold onto hope

Yet my strength stumbles

Tears are finding cheek

As I wish I was there

My love is yours

To draw into your heart

I pray it is the cure you need

Even if it sucks me dry

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  5. Very nicely done Charles, it is so sentimental and sad and really shows your versatility.

Very lovely, Charles. You have such an amazing skill with words. You can write scenes of intense battle that make me want to duck while I’m reading all away across the spectrum to poems of heartfelt sadness and pain that make me grab a box of tissues.
