First order of business! Thank you to everyone who helped spread the news of my free weekend. I greatly appreciate it.
Second order of business! My wife and I have returned to Long Island in one physical piece. Mentally is another matter due to a few annoying parts of the drive. Specifically getting lost around NYC and fearing that you’ll end up driving in Manhattan. Also, the GPS kept wanting to send us to the top of New York state in order to get us to the bottom of New York state. If you can figure that one out, you’re smarter than me.
Third order of business! This was a learning experience for the next time around. Tomorrow, I will go more into detail. Mistakes were made by me on what to do and I’m going to go into them when my head is clearer. I hope that happens tomorrow, but I still have to settle the Barnes & Noble/Smashword problem. Mostly, I have to beg Amazon for an extension because Smashwords won’t get back to me until Tuesday which is when I’m supposed to have this settled.
Anyway, off to dinner and I’m going to try to get the pictures posted tonight before I crash.

I really hope everything went well…and glad you got back in one piece…! 😀

Thanks. Things went, but it was my first convention. I messed up a few things.

Well…first time is kinda tough I believe. But, well, you learn from your mistakes, right? 😀

Yup. Hopefully, I can make it next year with a better plan and 4-5 books instead of one.

Yeah. Hope so. All the best to you and I hope you are not worried about anything!

Sadly, the issue that appeared Friday morning with my book being on Barnes & Noble’s site has not been fixed. I have to beg Amazon for more time tomorrow or pray I can jump right back on KDP Select when I settle it later in the week.

Well, I hope that issue is solved pretty soon. It has been quite a hard week on you. Take some rest… :D. I hope things will sort themselves out for you!

Rest will be Thursday. I have that issue to sort out, a school district meeting, 6 poems to type up for a project, and then prepare to drive my parents to the airport on Saturday. Then a birthday party next Sunday. I guess rest will be next Monday due to chaos and family.

I remember when mine went out and needed to be updated. Of course, I was in Pittsburgh driving and trying to find something. I ended up in someone’s driveway. And then in downtown Cleveland at night trying to figure out how to get home.
Our big joke is that I figure at some point she is going to get snarky when she has to recalculate one more time 🙂

Mine just froze for 10 miles. Serves it right for trying to get me arrested.

Good to see you back Charles, I hope you’re resting right now. I know travelling wears me out something fierce. Sending positive vibes that your Smashwords/Amazon/B&N thing gets taken care of quickly!

Thanks and I’ll be passing out once I get the convention pics up. I have a lot to do tomorrow, so I don’t want to let the pics fall behind.

It was great meeting you and your wife this weekend, Charles! I started reading your book this weekend at my hotel. You’ve got me curious to read more. . . oh, and thanks for the shout out! Much appreciated. 🙂

You’re welcome and it was great to meet you too. I’m going to start reading your book tonight. I’m planning to put this week toward reading your book. After repeatedly watching the trailers (that music is addicting), I really want to read and review it.

How did your book end up on B & N? I must have missed a few posts, loooong weekend for me too.

At the beginning, I signed up with Smashwords to cover the non-Kindle e-readers. This included B&N, but I originally thought it just meant they had a deal. It turns out that it meant they created a B&N sales page for my book. When I unpublished my book with Smashwords, it didn’t remove the B&N page. Since they did the setup, I can’t delete the page like I would if I made it myself. So, I need Smashwords to do it, but they won’t be getting back to me until Tuesday. That’s the day I need to fix this by. Amazon just told me that if I get dropped, I can return once I fix the issue. It makes it easier and gives me all of tomorrow to work on these poems that I was rough drafting. It still irks me though.

They are going to drop you? Yeah, I would drop Smashwords after this for sure. Tell the people with a Nook to buy a Kindle. 😉

I told them that when it happened on Friday. I told other authors that if they go Smashwords then good luck, but to make sure everything is down if they decide to go KDP Select for a 90 day period. Things would have been fine if I knew about the B&N site.

Welcome back, safe and sound. I@m looking forward to reading about your experiences. When reviewing your experience don’t forget about negative bias – giving more weight than deserving to the negative aspects and overlooking or giving less weight to the positive. 🙂

Thanks. I’ll do that.

Well done for making it back in one piece! Can’t wait to hear more about it. I ended up going on a last minute trip to Paris over the weekend, which has killed my credit card! It was fun – but genuinely would have liked to have been at the conference. Anyway… haven’t looked at WP, FB or twitter for almost 3 days… I think that’sa record… got some catching up to do!

Hope you enjoyed the trip. Last minute trip to Paris sounds like fun, but that might be because that would involve a long plane ride for me.
