The rain and wind are insane right now. They also decided to bring their friend nipple-shattering cold with them. Now, my exercise bike is in the poorly heated basement and typically I can rush down there to get it done. Not this morning. I rush down there, so ‘hell no’ and rush back up the stairs to my blankets and laptop. Yesterday was rough and I crawled out of the basement shivering. This day is worse and the memory of wearing shorts 2 days ago has me depressed.
My mood has also been dampened by this on my Amazon site:
“Book is currently out of print. Please refer to updated Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero for current version when it has been released.”
I wrote that a few months ago to warn people not to be the iUniverse version, which is no longer in print. I don’t know how I got into the system to write this, but I remember it taking me an hour of wandering. Well, if I had known that Amazon would combine the two pages in the future, I wouldn’t have bothered. Now, I’m trying to find my way back in while waiting on Amazon to get back to me in 24 hours. That’s just swell. 24 hours of it looking like my book is out of print and will be released in the future. Shouldn’t this type of crap be saved for Monday?
I also just realized that switched my author bio to the one line piece of crap that I had the first time. I don’t live in Florida any more.
So, my goal is to finish my book 4 edits and start my week of outlining future projects and reading. I have two pdf books and 7 eBooks of various lengths, so I want to make a dent in those before I start writing book 5. Probably take a few Lego Batman or Super Smash breaks. All I know is that I want a week of relaxing or, at the very least, feeling like I earned a vacation. It seems the universe is trying to make sure I suffer and drag myself to the finish line again.

I hate this weather too. It seems to color my whole day…gray. Hopefully spring will find its way back soon

That’s definitely the daily color. Though, I just wish it would be warmer. I can handle rain if I wasn’t freezing my buns off in the house.

aww sounds like amazon did a total FAIL. I hope it gets sorted soon! I’ll trade you weather :3 I prefer damp and cold to hot.. unfortunately, hot is all we get in El Paso, TX. You can have my 80-90 F weather. PLEASE take it.

I remember those days from Florida, but I think you guys have a drier heat. Maybe we should combine our weathers to get into the middle.
Amazon definitely did a total FAIL and I’m just worried that I’m going to pay for it. It took a few hours for them to combine everything, but it takes 2 days to remove a single section. Amazing. It’s a mess in the reviews too. Anyone who reviewed eBook and paperback now have two reviews under my book. Also, a 2007 review from a friend saying ‘I hate reading, but I love this book. 5 stars.’ is now sitting there. Ugh. Such a mess. I sent an S.O.S. on Twitter stating the problem and asking for help in spreading the word, but I have no idea if that will do anything. I can accept falling off the lists because interest died down, but not because someone accidentally marked my book as ‘out of print’.

24-48 hours to fix. I’m scared that it will be long enough for potential readers to get confused and wait for the ‘new version’. I still don’t know how well I can sell my book if it falls off the Amazon lists since I can’t find any more free/cheap advertising sites.

I’m so sorry Charles! Yes, that IS something that should have been saved for Monday! 😦
But I have faith in you that you’ll find a way back into the system to clean up amazon’s mess!!!

Unfortunately, I can’t get in there. I made a phone call and they said they will fix it in 24-48 hours, but that’s more than enough time for the confusion to cost me dearly. That’s if they fix it completely in the first place.
