tropical forestRough Guides are on the lookout for talented new authors for their online features section and have teamed up with Journeys are made @ gapyear.com to run a writing competition as a way of spotting travel writing talent

To enter, you need write a 500-word feature, based on a personal experience, on one of the following themes:

  1. The place I call home

  2. A day I’ll never forget

  3. My greatest adventure

Entries should be emailed to competitions@roughguides.com, either as a .docx (Microsoft Word) file, or pasted into the email itself.

Deadline: May 25th 2015 12 pm

There’s only one prize on offer, but it is a good one. The winner will win £2,000 to spend on creating their perfect trip with Journeys are made @ gapyear.com . The winning entry will also be published by Rough Guides.
