Hopes for 2025

First, I’m thinking of testing out a new type of post on Wednesdays this month.  It will be scenario posts.  Basically, I’m going to pose a scenario and people can say how they would handle it.  Might be reality-based or fantasy-based.  Figure it could be fun.  The goal is to also get people to think outside of themselves, so there will be scenarios where they are a specified character type.

Anyway, I guess this is where I post my hopes for 2025.  Didn’t do very well with my hopes for 2024.  Quite frankly, last year was definitely the worst one I’ve every gone through.  The ‘life event’ was over by the end of January, but the results kind of infected the rest of the year.  Lots of unavoidable anger, tension, and stress.  Changes at work happened soon after too, so that wore me down to a numb.  Barely did any editing and I didn’t do any new writing.  Not even going to imagine that I can publish Slumberlord Chronicles this year unless I get lucky.  My health has taken a hit due to the stress and machinations of others amping up my anxiety to terrible levels.  None of this looks like it’s going to change in the near future.

Guess my real hope is that 2025 isn’t as bad as 2024.  I’ll be happy if I can finish editing Slumberlord Chronicles and at least start the next book. Be nice if I can lose weight, but exercise requires energy and healthier eating habits require more affordable healthy foods.  Fruits and vegetables are fucking expensive around here.  Pretty sure some people will voice their opinion on this one.  My point is that life seems to be getting more stressful and grueling than before.  It’s not easing off.  I mean, I’m writing this while suffering from my nightly anxiety itching, which drives me up the wall.

So, I guess I only have tw0 goals for 2025:

  1. Survive
  2. Improve my life somehow

Honestly, I’m already seeing signs of that second one being a challenge.  Events might be getting set in motion by other people, which will create a lot of chaos.  Fingers crossed that I make it through all of that.  Hope everyone can meet their own goals.  Enjoy a rather low-key month of posts here while I get things together, especially my new scenario thing.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  5. 2024 is over. I’d like a better 2025 myself. I like your goals. Seems realistic but improvement might still require a plan.
