Today is National Fairy Tale Day! I was going to do a bunch of memes, but I thought it would be more fun to let people comment on the subject. Most of us grew up with some fairy tales. They aren’t always the same ones, but we know of them. Fairy tales span cultures to teach children lessons and entertain. Many adults love them too since it reminds them of younger days. So, let’s get to the questions.

1. My favorite has always been Cinderella. A close second is The Twelve Dancing Princesses.
2. Cinderella is a rags-to-riches story. A young woman who is kind and loving triumphs over her abusive stepmother and stepsisters. I have seen many retellings of this story where Cinderella is more of a fighter. But I still love the OG Cinderella—the French fairy tale.

A great fairy tale needs danger, near fatality, and a saving prince.
If I could have any item I think I would like the goose that laid the golden eggs.

My favorite fairy tale: The Twelve Dancing Princesses. 1) The princesses were refusing to get married at their father’s whim. 2) The setting of the caverns with trees that had silver leaves and stuff were so cool.
What makes a great fairy tale: Setting is very important (see coolness above) but also there needs to be magic and mystery with high stakes.
Object from a Fairy Tale: So hard to choose! Maybe I’d choose the enchanted amber that you could place in a pot with something like food or drink, and it would fill the pot overnight.

You caught me cold, but I’ll give it a shot. I was always more into the Greekish versions. Something like Aesop. I like the one about the ant and the grasshopper. Items? How about a mine full of gems?
