I couldn’t resist this holiday. A dear, close friend of mine and I have a squirrel thing going on for years. So, I’d be remiss if I didn’t take advantage of this day. Also, there are 5 subfamilies, 58 genera, and 285 species of squirrel . . . So, this is the only way I can do an animal post about them without going insane. Enjoy the bushy-tailed funnies.

I’ll have to appreciate mine later. The sun isn’t up here yet.

Great post, Charles. We have a family of squirrels we feed. mainly to keep them out of the birdfeeders. They are endlessly entertaining and have gotten a bit braver over the years – will sit outside my patio door and look in. Drives the cat crazy!

Thanks. We have a bunch that go for our oak tree. They can be fun to watch at times.

Lol, the squirrels in my neighborhood seem to enjoy taunting our indoor cats.

We have a few that mess with birds and dogs.

Hard to appreciate the squirrel who teases Twiggy. He stays on the fence and tortures her. He did come into the yard one day and has never done that again.
