Some of My Favorite Writing Songs

I couldn’t do this week’s topic without showing some songs that I will put on when I need some inspiration.  That or I have trouble with a scene and they can help me get through the issue.  I’ve been using them less and less though because I’m just letting the playlists run through, but I still want to share.

This last one is actually the first inspiration song.  I listened to it all the time in high school and college when I wanted to write.  I’d also listen to it when I couldn’t get to my books and was feeling depressed.  Been a while since I felt like putting it on for some reason.  Still, my mind went to it first when I thought of this post:

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Believe it or not, I am unfamiliar with these except for Johnny Cash. Shows my age I think!

Charles, every song seems to be for a different mood. The Johnny Cash song really got to me. Made me look back at my own life progression and how I changed it in my book. The Hurt taken away and replaced with Hope! 📚🎶 Christine

You’ve mentioned some of these in other blogs. I can’t help thinking of how during a talk with a movie producer, the producer talked about how just the right song was needed for a scene in a film. So it’s understandable that these songs inspire you for different reasons.

  5. Thanks for sharing these. I was unfamiliar with the first and third ones, and I didn’t recognize the fifth until I started listening to it. Then I remembered that I used to hear it on the radio sometimes (which really shows my age, I’m sure) and liked it.

    • Third one I stumbled onto years ago. It was on an alternate rock station that had just turned up, but I don’t hear it any more. The first one was popular in 2009/2010. I’m actually surprised about you knowing the last one. Nobody ever seems to remember that.
