Over the next few weeks millions of mince pies, Christmas cookies, puddings and cakes will be consumed. We will also be drinking more that we usually do and there are some favourite tipples that traditionally come out at this time of year.. or find themselves into the trifle!

I really would like to say that I make my own mince pies from scratch but I am afraid that like most of us I will reach out and select one of the many brands on offer from November onwards.
