So, Questions 3 is no more. Nobody really responds to it and asking about it in a previous post didn’t really make me think it was worth keeping. I might bring it back from time to time if I come up with a topic or to promote a book. This means Thursday is a blank space for now. Not sure what I can do here and I’d rather not keep it entirely blank.
I considered doing a weekly ‘7 Signs/Tips’ post every Thursday since people really enjoy those. I’m leaning away from this only because these posts take time and I don’t want to run them into the ground. My Tuesday and Thursday posts tend to be less planned than the M-W-F ones. I could feasibly make this day about my own writing ideas and bring back the ‘future ideas’ stuff from a few years back. Those were hit and miss since I kept a lot of info secret to avoid spoilers, which made suggestions hard to respond to. I’ve also noticed that authors, myself included, tend to react to things like this through our own writing styles and focus. This is only natural, but it makes things complicated over the Internet. Great for face-to-face and email, which is a more private back and forth.
As you can see, I’ve no idea what I’m doing on Thursdays. Next week might be a list of the Chasing Bedlam chapter titles to see what people think. Maybe I could make Thursday exclusively for the Bedlam series? That book tends to be forgotten and put on the side while I focus on the fantasy side of my writing. Again, this would require more planning and might be tough when I start promoting the next book.
To end this:
Volunteers Needed for September (hopefully) debut of
LEGENDS OF WINDEMERE: CHARMS OF THE FEYKIN!
Figure I should start that up now.

Volunteering – count me in, Charles.

Count me in. Just for the record I enjoyed the three questions.

Thanks. I’m guessing it ran its course with a lot of people, so maybe I’ll bring it back from time to time. Still have no idea what to do now. Leaning toward that Bedlam day.

It was fun, but the responses were getting smaller and smaller as time went on.

I can relate to Bedlam day for sure.

We’ll see how well it goes. I have plenty of characters in the books to introduce like Emily, Katie, and whatever else comes to mind.

You can always count on me. I have my Idea Mill that shows up sporadically. People seem to like it, so I keep stockpiling things to make them. I don’t think I could do one a week, or that readers would enjoy them as much. Having a few sporadic themes could lend some variety and make a regular thursday post. Kind of like the old show where you never knew whether you’d get Rockford, McCloud, Columbo, or a couple of others until you tuned in.

I can try it. That tends to be how I work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The other days were supposed to be simpler, which is why I went for regular themes. Kind of backfired outside of Teaser Tuesday. Unless that one is doing bad and I haven’t accepted it. At least I have a week or two to figure stuff out.

You can count me in as a volunteer, Charles 😀 I do a couple of Thursday challenges, one is Norm 2.0s Thursday doors, and the other is Sue Vincent’s #writephoto – not sure if either of those would be up your alley?

Thanks. I used to do the challenges, but my time got limited for spontaneous posts. Most weekdays, I’m up and running before the sun. I’ll give them a look though. Do the challenges go up on Thursday or the day before?

Sue’s goes up on Thursday and you have until Tuesday to post (I think). Norm’s is just every week – it’s called Thursday doors but I think you have till Saturday to add a link. 😀

Okay. I’ll look at them if I can’t figure anything out. Typically, if I don’t have anything scheduled by Wednesday night then I just grab an old poem or blurt out stuff.

Cool. You always seem to have a good variety of posts, Charles, so I’m sure you’ll have something 😀

Maybe guest posts? While staying flexible for whatever new ideas occur to you.

Maybe. I have Sundays reserved for author promo posts, but I’ll see what I can do for weekdays. One problem I’ve found with this is that I’ll get an initial rush that takes me through a month or two. Then, the well dries up and I’m back where I started. Maybe somebody should make a site that helps bloggers connect for guest posts. Like B-Harmony or something.

Interesting idea… But author appearances don’t have to be about their books. Maybe you could arrange someone to do a Point-Counterpoint on succeeding day? Might be a lot of work, though.

I did something like that with C.S. Boyack a few months ago. We keep meaning to do another, but schedules didn’t match up. I’ll have to talk to him about trying again.
